Youth Photographed: Methodologies for Visual Analysis
Se ha publicado uno de los últimos artículos que propone una reflexión metodológica basada en el trabajo con fotografías de jóvenes publicadas en medios impresos en Chile durante el siglo XX. Este artículo ha sido escrito por nuestros investigadores, la Dra. Marcela Saa y el Dr. Óscar Aguilera: Utilizamos nuestra propuesta de análisis cualitativo, que incluye un trabajo intencionado con la cultura visual, la creación de archivos propios y el desarrollo de herramientas para el análisis individual y grupal de fotografías. Proponemos dos estrategias específicas para el análisis de fotografías: la primera es el “análisis por capas” y la segunda es el “análisis grupal o en panel”, que permite vincular imágenes, cultura y juventud. Confiamos en que esta reflexión metodológica contribuirá al estudio de la juventud y estimulará el debate en el propio campo de estudio.

I really liked how this post breaks down different ways to look at youth photography and shows how seeing things visually can change what we learn, because it reminded me of a time I first tried to study images for a school project.
